What started in 2017 as SpiceWarriors has now evolved into a pan-African collective of Restoration Warriors—a community of passionate changemakers restoring ecosystems and championing communities.
Restoration Warriors, formerly SpiceWarriors, was founded in 2017 by the then 17-year-old Anita Soina under the mentorship of Sir. Eric I. Matsanza, the founder of Spice Without Borders. Over the past few years, it has brought together over 300 members, with about 15 from Tanzania and the rest distributed across various regions in Kenya. The majority of these members have no formal educational background in the field but are driven by passion and determination to learn, unlearn, and create a lasting impact.
With several initiative such as A Tree a child schools initiatives, Tree orchards for schools, tree growing at homes, adopt a tree, Mangrove Restoration, campaigns against plastic, climate strikes, Monthly Out of 10 mental wellness check up, Kids Corner among others, we have grown in individual capacity and as a group and the impact has gone beyond ourselves.
